On August 28, 2022 (Sunday), around 20,000 participants of the Hokkaido Marathon 2022 ran through Hokkaido University’s Sapporo Campus.

Towards the end of the race, at around the 38 km mark, the runners entered the campus area from the North and continued running through the Main Street. The course made a left turn at the Bust of Dr. Clark and exited the campus area through the South Gate (the brick gate of Sapporo Agricultural College). The marathon course continued southwards and finished in Odori Park.

Hokkaido University was first added to the course in 2009. Citizens came and cheered to support the runners.  The Hokkaido Marathon 2022 is the return of this annual event after 3 years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.
