According to both university and city officials, this is the first agreement of its type between Hokkaido University and Sapporo City. They also mentioned that Hokkaido University was chosen specifically for this agreement because it hosted around half of the conferences held in Sapporo last year. The MICE agreement will continue until March 31, 2019.
