Hokudai Marche 2016 scheduled on August 20 and 21

Hokudai Marche 2016 will be held from 10:00 to 16:00 on August 20 (Sat.) and 21 (Sun.) in front of Hokkaido University’s School of Agriculture. This event is held every August on the theme of food safety and assurance, and this year’s event is the seventh such gathering. Producers from various parts of Hokkaido will sell fresh produce and processed products. Hokudai Marche will also feature a variety of events (with some requiring reservations), including campus-farm tours guided by Hokkaido University students, hands-on farming experience options and an opportunity to relax at the Marche Café. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation (there is no parking available for the event).
Hokudai Marche is prepared for and run by students, with the aim of helping consumers deepen their understanding of food production and agriculture in Hokkaido as well as developing an interest in agriculture as a profession. In 2015, it attracted more than 8,000 visitors.
