Event | December 09, 2017

Finished Dec 09 2017

The Hokkaido University Finals for the Hult Prize will take place on December 9th, 2017.

The Hult Prize is the world’s largest social entrepreneurship student competition hosted by the Hult Prize Foundation. The prize awards $1,000,000 in start-up funding to the team of students that develops the most breakthrough idea to solve one of our world’s toughest social challenges.

This year’s challenge revolves around energy. At the finals, participants are expected to propose ideas to highly qualified judges in just six minutes, addressing the question “Can you build a scalable, sustainable social enterprise that harnesses the power of energy to transform the lives of 10 million people by 2025?”

The winning team of the Hokkaido University Finals will then proceed to the Regional Finals in one of sixteen locations world-wide in March 2018 to compete against other winning teams from around the world. Students of Hokkaido University have participated in the Hult Prize for the last three consecutive years, and thus take on the role of pioneers for the challenge in Japan.
