Information for Japanese Language Courses, Autumn-Winter 2013
The International Student Center has announced its Japanese Language Class for the second semester class, 2013. Please check the flyer for General Japanese Course and Academic Japanese Course.
General Japanese Course | |

Semester Dates | Friday, October 11, 2013 ~ Friday, February 10, 2014 (except Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays). |
Timetable | Please refer to the Course Guide Second Semester 2013 (will be uploaded in September). |
Classroom Location | Most classes will be taught in the OIA, with some classes in one other building on campus. Locations TBA |
Class Times | Period 1 08:45-10:15 Period 2 10:30-12:00 Period 3 13:00-14:30 |
Eligibility | The General Japanese Courses are open to overseas students enrolled at Hokkaido University with a student visa (research students or ‘kenkyusei’, graduate students, special auditors, and special research students), and overseas teaching and research staff. Please be reminded that auditors, credited auditors and undergraduate students are not eligible to register. |
Applications | Apply online here between 1 PM, Friday, Sept 13 through 5 PM, Friday, Sept 27, 2013. |
Placement Test |
All applicants for the General Japanese course must take a placement test. Notes:
(1) All applicants (new and continuing) must submit an online application form.
(2) All applicants must take a placement test with the exception of the following applicants:
(a) If you apply ONLY for “Introductory Japanese Grammar 1”, “Introductory Japanese Communication 1”, and/or “Introductory Kanji & Vocabulary 1”.
(b) If you took (a) class(es) in the previous semester / quarter, and plan to take the same class(es) only.
If you registered for a class but cancelled it or you apply for the different subject of the General Japanese Course in the previous semester, you need to take a placement test this time.
