Signing Ceremony of newly established ASEAN Hanoi Office held

On Tuesday, July 9^th, 2019, the signing ceremony for the newly established Hokkaido University ASEAN Hanoi Office was held at Hokkaido University. The ASEAN Office is located at and is a joint office with Vietnam National University, Hanoi – University of Science (VNU-HUS).

Hokkaido University and VNU-HUS have promoted collaborative relationships and student and faculty exchanges since an Academic Exchange Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange were concluded in March 2013.

Rector Nguyen Van Noi from VNU-HUS, Acting President Masanori Kasahara, Faculty of Engineering Professor Norihiro Izumi, Institute for International Collaboration Deputy Director So Kawanobe, and 4 members including exchange students from VNU-HUS, attended the ceremony. During the ceremony, both Hokkaido University and VNU-HUS expressed their expectations for strengthened collaborations and more exchanges with universities in the ASEAN region. The Joint Office Agreement was signed by Rector Nguyen Van Noi and Acting President Kasahara.　

Through this joint office, Hokkaido University can disseminate information and promote exchanges with higher educational institutions in the region.
