Nuclear Reaction Data Centre and Office for International Academic Support (OIAS), Faculty of Science is pleased to announce the third “Sci-Tech Talk in English” by Dr.Naohiko Otsuka (Nuclear Data Physicist at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).


The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) was created in 1957 and its genesis was US President Eisenhower’s Atoms for Peace address to the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1953. The IAEA’s mission is safeguards, nuclear arms control and disarmament, and to ensure the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology among its Member States.

Management and dissemination of atomic and nuclear data for applications are some examples of the IAEA activities.

In this talk, the IAEA’s support for peaceful applications of nuclear technology will be introduced using activities relating to  atomic and nuclear data as examples. Internships at the IAEA will also be mentioned.
