Sapporo Dome

The Sapporo Dome opened in 2001 and holds around 41,000 seats. One of the domes’ interesting characteristics is its ability to switch between two entirely different surfaces. Baseball games are played on artificial turf, while football games are held on a grass pitch that slides into and out of the stadium as needed. The stadium is home to the soccer team ‘Consadole Sapporo’ and baseballs ‘Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.’
