HUP Prof. Thorsten Wohland and Associate Prof. Vladana Vukojević visit HU for the lectures at Hokkaido Summer Institute (September 2019)

Hokkaido University Partner Thorsten Wohland (Professor, Department of Biological Sciences and Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore) and Hokkaido University Partner Vladana Vukojević (Associate Professor, Department of Clinical Neuroscience and Center for Molecular Medicine, Karolinska Institute, Visiting Professor, University of Belgrade) came to teach 3 Hokkaido Summer Institute courses with the Graduate School of Advanced Life Science. They were invited by Prof. Masataka Kinjo and his laboratory to provide overall assistance and conduct workshops.

The courses were attended by 13 students from China, Cyprus, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, U.K., and Vietnam. They studied advanced fluorescence microscopy imaging techniques to quantitatively characterize molecular transportation networks and interactions in live cells as well as learn how to use FCS and FCCS to study molecular mobility and interactions. On the last day, the students presented the results of their observations.
