Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) is a national program led by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI), Government of Japan. The purpose of SIP is to realize scientific and technological innovation in Japan.
It promotes interdisciplinary research and development covering from fundamental study to industrial application with industry-academia-government cooperation, under strong leadership of Program Directors for each subject.
Currently, Hokkaido University runs the following two programs.
