On August 31(Sun), the Hokkaido Marathon 2025 took place under calm and pleasant weather conditions, drawing 20,781 runners(*) from across Japan and around the world.
One of the highlights of the course was Hokkaido University’s Sapporo Campus, where runners made their way through in the final stretch of the race.
Around the 38-kilometer mark, runners entered the campus, advancing along the tree-lined main street, passing the iconic bust of Dr. William S. Clark on their right, and running through the shade of the Central Lawn. They exited through the South Gate(Former main gate of Sapporo Agricultural College)and pushed on toward the finish line in Odori Park.
Since being added to the course in 2009, the Sapporo Campus has become a popular cheering spot, with many local residents gathering and cheering.
