Call for Hokudai Senryu Contest Entries until November 25, 2025

The Integrated URA Office, in collaboration with the Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability, is holding the “Hokkaido University Senryu Contest 2025” to promote communication across the university community.
Theme
Entries are now open for the Senryu Contest under the theme of “Hokkaido University and I — My Impact Moment —”
What is Senryu?
Senryu is a form of Japanese short poetry that consists of three lines with a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. It often explores human nature, emotions, and everyday life with a humorous or satirical tone.
Language
If your preferred language is other than Japanese, we welcome your entries in the form of very short poetry of three lines in any of your preferred language.
Eligibility
Anyone affiliated with Hokkaido University.

Announcement of Winning Entries
In January 2026, excellent pieces will be published on the Integrated URA Office website, and special awards will be given to particularly outstanding ones.
