Guest Speakers from AAAS

Brian Lin, Director, Editorial Content Strategy, EurekAlert!

Brian Lin serves as Director of Editorial Content Strategy and Asia Regional Representative for EurekAlert!, the world’s largest science news distribution platform of its kind, operated by AAAS. Previously, he worked in public relations at the University of British Columbia for 13 years and has extensive experience in media outreach for research information. He actively supports universities and research institutions across Asia, providing advice on global research communication. At Hokkaido University, he was invited to speak at the Japan PIO Summit in 2019.


Bill Moran, Publisher, Science family of Journals

Bill Moran is Publisher of the Science family of journals, overseeing content, licensing, collaborations, outreach, Science Careers, and publishing operations. Over his 20 years with AAAS, he has expanded international publishing, launched the Beijing office, built global collaborations, advanced Science Careers, and founded Science Custom Publishing. Earlier, he served as Director of Global Collaboration and Custom Publishing. Previously, Moran was Senior VP at Nature America, where he helped launch Nature online, the first NPG job board, and new journals. He also worked at Informa on STM market expansion and digital redesigns.


Roger Goncalves, Associate Director, International, Science family of Journals

Roger joined Science in November 2008. He previously held positions at Informa and Nature Publishing Group, where he helped launch the journal Nature Methods in New York. In addition to advertising sales and consulting, in 2016, Roger also took on responsibility for the Science prize programs and scientific meetings for the group. With almost 20 years of experience in STM publishing, Roger has a profound passion for scientific publishing and developing novel advertising solutions for clients to connect with readers. Roger is based in Switzerland and lives by the principles of the three F’s: family, fun and food.
