150th Anniversary Project

In 2026, Hokkaido University will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its foundation. As part of this milestone, the Nitobe College Honors Program: Graduate Curriculum will hold the 22nd Mentor Forum.

Four Nitobe College Mentors, among them doctoral graduates of Hokkaido University who have gone on to build careers across research, industry, and entrepreneurship, will share the stories behind their professional journeys. Their paths have taken them well beyond what their original qualifications suggested, across disciplines, industries, and in some cases, continents.

Through lectures and open discussion, the mentors will explore what it really takes to navigate a career that refuses to stay in one lane, and what graduate students can learn from professionals who have done exactly that.
