Hokkaido Summer Institute 2025 will be held！

More than 130 world-leading researchers from overseas will gather at Hokkaido University for the HSI, which was established in 2016 and provides lectures with our university’s faculty members during the summer.

HSI2025 offers 154 courses* (108 graduate level courses and 46 undergraduate level courses) this summer, June – October 2025.

*About one week for each course.

There are also many courses that non-students can participate in.

<Application Period>

1^st application period:

Open: March 3 (Mon), 2025, 12:00 JST*

Close: March 10 (Mon), 2025, 17:00 JST*

・All courses

2^nd application period

Open: April 14 (Mon), 2025, 12:00 JST*

Close: April 21 (Mon), 2025, 17:00 JST*

・Courses starting from July*

*Students and non-students living in Japan are able to apply for all courses.

*The courses that are full in the first application period cannot be applied for.

3^rd application period

Open: May 26 (Mon), 2025, 12:00 JST*

Close: Jun 2(Mon), 2025, 17:00 JST*

・Courses starting from August or later

・The courses that are full in the first/second application period cannot be applied for.

*JST=Japanese Standard Time

The detail information of HSI2025 will be available in late January 2025, and online application (1^st) will be started in March.

*Hokkaido University students do not need to apply online.

During the course registration period for each semester and term, you only need to register for courses in the same way as regular courses.
