On August 25 (Sun), 2024, Hokkaido Marathon 2024 was held with 19,450 runners (*) from Japan and abroad running through Hokkaido University’s Sapporo campus.

On the day of the race, the Sapporo area was blessed with fine weather, bright sunshine and a high temperature for late August in Hokkaido.

The runners entered the campus area towards the end of the marathon at around the 38 km point. They proceeded along the Main Street. With the William S. Clark bust on their right, they continued running under the shade of the Central Lawn trees towards the South Gate (Former main gate of Sapporo Agricultural College) and made a final dash to the finish line at Odori Park.

The Sapporo Campus was added to the Hokkaido Marathon course in 2009 where many citizens gathered and cheered the runners.

The marathon was broadcasted on live-TV by UHB (Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting) and BS Fuji.
