Lump Sum Loans

International students in need of financial assistance can apply for our cash loan system. After screening and if accepted, loans of up to ¥50,000 may be provided interest-free for 6 months.

Eligibility:

Be enrolled as an international student at Hokkaido University.

Application:

For details on how to apply, ask at the Academic Affairs Section of your department, or at the Student Support Division, Academic Affairs Department.

Please note:

• This is a loan system so any amount rendered must be reimbursed.
• Applications take approximately 4 weeks to process after being submitted.
• Submitting an application does not guarantee support.
• Students already receiving a scholarship from the Japanese government or from a foreign government, and students who have been enrolled for less than 6 months are ineligible to apply.
