Hokkaido University Museum

Want to know more about Dr. Clark, the university’s founder, or about our Nobel Prize winner Akira Suzuki and his research? The mission of the Hokkaido University Museum (which was recently renewed in 2016) is to collect, preserve, document, digitize and utilize objects for the purposes of research, and to showcase regular exhibitions and educational programs. This includes exhibitions of scientifically significant specimens and historical documents which the university has been accumulating since its establishment in 1876 to the present day.

As an institution devoted to research and education, the museum exhibits the results of past and present research. It aims to provide the bases for future research while supporting the training and education of its own students and visitors.
